Our Commitment
My Companion (the “App”) is built with your privacy as a priority. This policy explains what data the App and its service providers process, why it is used, and how it is handled.
The App stores pet data on your device. It does not provide user accounts and does not ask you to provide an email address. During onboarding, you may enter a name for the companion experience; that name is stored locally with your pet data. The App and its service providers may still process technical, analytics, advertising, and purchase-related information as described below.
Data Stored on Your Device
Pet-related data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This includes:
- The name you enter, your pet’s name, species, and care statistics such as hunger, energy, and mood.
- Your care streak and interaction history.
- App preferences such as language, theme, and notification settings.
- Purchase records for items unlocked in the App.
This local pet data is not sent to our server. If you delete the App, local App data may be permanently erased. Your device platform may have its own backup behavior.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used in aggregate and to improve the experience. Analytics may process:
- Anonymous usage events such as feeding a pet or opening the shop.
- App crashes and performance data.
- General device information such as device model, operating-system version, and country.
Analytics data may be processed by Google according to its own policies. The App does not use analytics to collect your name, email address, or phone number.
Advertising
The App displays ads through Google AdMob when valid configuration and ad inventory are available. Google AdMob may process:
- Advertising identifiers, such as IDFA on iOS or GAID on Android, where permitted.
- General device and network information.
- Advertisement interaction data such as impressions and taps.
The current app configuration does not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission. Ads may still be shown without personalized tracking, depending on platform, region, consent, and device settings.
The advertising networks are configured to block gambling, dating, alcohol, and adult-content categories. Advertising availability and filtering can vary by provider, region, platform, and settings.
In-App Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. We do not collect or store payment-card numbers or billing addresses.
The App may use RevenueCat to manage and validate optional one-time coin-pack purchases. We do not currently describe these purchases as subscriptions. Prices, availability, and refund rules are shown or handled through the applicable store and remain subject to that store’s terms.
In the current configuration, coin-pack purchases are disabled on both Android and iOS. Availability may change in a future version or through store configuration.
Notifications
The App may send local notifications to remind you about your pet. These notifications are:
- Generated on your device rather than sent from our server.
- Optional; you choose whether to enable them during onboarding and can disable them in Settings.
- Limited to a maximum of one notification per day.
The App does not use push notification services, and no notification token is collected or stored on our server.
Children’s Privacy
My Companion is designed for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App has no social features, chat, user-generated-content sharing, or account creation.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can investigate.
Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob and Google Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Privacy
- RevenueCat for purchase and subscription management: RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store and Google Play for payment processing and distribution.
Review the providers’ policies to understand their data practices.
Data Deletion
Because pet data is stored on your device, you can control local deletion:
- Delete everything: uninstall the App. Local App data may be permanently erased.
- Reset your pet: use the reset option in Settings to clear pet data without uninstalling.
- Reset the advertising identifier: use your device’s privacy settings to reset or limit ad tracking.
- Third-party data: use the relevant provider’s privacy controls for analytics, advertising, or purchase-related information held by that provider.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its services, legal obligations, or platform requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date when changes are published.
